Rooftop Bars in Vienna

The best roof terraces of the city

Hot August goes best in Vienna if you are on top of the city. There are plenty of rooftop bars, where you can enjoy an astonishing view, which comes along with some cold, fresh drinks. We gathered the best tips for you.

Our first recommendation is located on the 8th floor of the Hotel Ritz Carlton. The Atmosphere Rooftop Bar does not only offer a spectacular view over the city of Vienna and their sights, but also delicious cocktails and culinary delicacies. On weekends, you can also enjoy live DJ music.   If you are looking for the perfect selfie, you should definitively consider to stop by Lamée Rooftop at the Rotenturmstraße. On top, you are facing the Stephansdom, Vienna’s famous landmark. Even if the prices are a little higher as in other restaurants, you should not miss the chance to indulge this kind of view. Moreover, the Ristorante Settimo Cielo is also located near Stephansdom. There you can enjoy mediterran kitchen with a view right up to the Wienerwald.

Rooftop Bars for all kind

The marvellous view from the Justizcafé in the 16th district is our insider tip. On top of the Viennese palace of justice you can enjoy your coffee or a little snack from Monday until Friday (7am until 4:30pm). One of the rooftop bars which is by no means an insider tip anymore, but therefore more on the hipster side, is the Dachboden at 25hrs Hotel right at the MQ. The terrace offers not only a perfect view over the parc and the parliament, but also various events.   In case you are more into cozy kind of rooftop bars, maybe the Rooftop Garden on top of Hotel Ruby Marie will make your heart skip. Surrounded by plants, you can chill either on colorful chairs or on fatboys. In addition, you can also take a walk at the Mariahilfer Straße and stop by Brandauer at Gerngroß. The restaurant offers typical Austrian dishes and a great view over the rooftops of the city. Our last recommendation is the Ocean’s Sky located on top of Haus des Meeres. Take your chance and grab yourself a little snack if you are spending a couple of hours in there. The fantastic view over Vienna is worth it.
