The small ice dream at the biggest Viennese Christmas Market is closed and the Rathausplatz will now become the Vienna Ice Dream – Europe’s biggest ice-skating ground.
9000m² of icy surface and over 400m paths will guide you through the illuminated park in front of the town hall of Vienna. From Monday to Friday between 10:00 to 16:00, and on weekends, you can take free ice skating lessons. In addition, on Monday to Friday evening the free icy surface will turn into a curling ground.
You can rent skating shoes directly next to the ice rink and around the spot you will find different food courts, as well as an alpine chalet where you can have an “Après Ski” party.

You can ice skate in the city park “Stadtpark” since over 150 years already, which makes this ice skating club to the oldest and biggest one of the whole world. Since 1867, you can skate inside and outside on more than 6000m² icy surface.
The ice-skating club also has many different offers: a skate rental, children lessons, ice figure dancing lessons and ice-skating for the elderly. Every Friday at 18:00 you can attend an ice disco directly on the ice rink.

Eisstadthalle

If you don’t just want to ice skate in the Winter, you can go here anytime during the whole year: right next to the indoor swimming pool “Stadthallenbad” is the “Eisstadthalle”.
You cannot just ice skate here, you can also play ice hockey and curling, and you can also train ice figure skating. One of the biggest attractions is the ice disco every Saturday at 16:00.

Kunsteisbahn Engelmann

Since over 100 years, you can ice skate here over the roofs of Vienna. The first ever open-air artificial ice rink "Engelmann" has started 1868 its’ small business and since 1932 the icy surface covers already over 3000m².
Every Tuesday you can attend the Ladies Day, on Thursday at 18:00 the couple evening takes place and you can dance on the ice at the ice disco every Friday at 17:30.
On site, you can buy and rent ice skates and if you are hungry, you can visit the buffet restaurant right next to the ice rink. During summer, the big surface becomes the highest situated football field in Vienna.

Ice skating on the old Danube

Once the temperature is lower than 0 degrees for more than a few days in a row, the Old Danube freezes and you can ice skate on it. However, be careful: Ice-skating on the Old Danube is at your own risk!
At the Kagraner Bridge in front of “Kukis Kombüse” you can rent ice skates and enjoy ice cream and music at the ice bar on the Weekends.
